Mouse Door-Opener Day in the Production Plant Bieringen

The “Blue Elephant” visited ZIEHL-ABEGG for the “Mouse door-opener day” in October. Together with SWR Landesschau and many interested young and old guests, he visited the impressive production plant in Schöntal-Bieringen, one of the largest plants operated by ZIEHL-ABEGG in Germany. The production plant with more than 20,000 square metres and a connected foundry offered an attractive backdrop for the young guests and the TV team on the door-opener day. Rotors of aluminium up to a size of one metre can be cast in one piece in the Bieringen plant. The foundry melts more than 100 tons of aluminium ingots per week that will leave the plant in the form of fans later. On a roofed area of 31,700 square metres, the company produces complete fans with motors, control units and protection grids that it sends out around the world. The production plant ZIEHL-ABEGG Bieringen has represented focused competence for axial fans and the development of pioneering technologies that have in the meantime become standards in global ventilation industry for more than 50 years. This is where the only fan of the FE2owlet type in the world is produced as well. Developed based on the principles of owl wings, it has controlled the market for many years with extraordinary efficiency and near-noiseless operation.
