HIGH UP AT HANKOOK TIRE
12/17 Futuristic, infinitely tall and breath-taking – the “Hankook Technodome”, the new central research and development centre of internationally active South-Korean tyre manufacturer Hankook Tire in Daejeon/South Korea. Hankook’s Korean headquarter have already received the highest award “LEED” of the U.S. Green Building Council for sustainable building design for its extremely avant-garde architecture. Special eye-catchers include four round glass elevators constructed by system specialist GBH Design GmbH. The modern design of extravagant lifts is made perfect by their excellent technology and the matching product components. The plant specialists from GBH Design GmbH brought ZIEHL-ABEGG on board for this demanding project. The companies have maintained a business relationship for decades already. Both are known for best quality and reliable performance. The most important prerequisite for this project was guaranteeing for smooth operation of the transparent round elevators. ZIEHL-ABEGG was able to meet this requirement with its gearless elevator drive ZAtop SM225.60B. The efficient drive has a sheave of 400 mm. The elevator is operated at a running speed of 1 m/s. The elevators are now moving up and down as required across a conveyor route of 18.3 m each, with state-of-the-art ZIEHL-ABEGG drive technology. They maintain best energy efficiency and run perfectly quietly.
GBH Design GmbH likes to use drives from ZIEHL-ABEGG, often combined with the matching ZIEHL-ABEGG control technology. It is a tried and tested project cooperation that was completely successful once again in this shared project in South Korea.
