ZIEHL-ABEGG – Great commitment

We stand by our social commitmentand support our employees in their voluntary efforts to save lives –

It is not a ‘given’ that companies will grant their employees free rein to get involved in voluntary work e.g. with the volunteer fire service, technical relief or other aid organisations, or to release them from their duties so they can drop everything, as it were, and go off to help others by performing civil protection duties.
For ZIEHL-ABEGG however, lending its support for these tasks by releasing personnel from their duties during working hours for the benefit of the general public, is something close to its heart.

For this commitment by ZIEHL-ABEGG to “civil protection”, the Minister of the Interior for Baden-Württemberg, Thomas Strobel (CDU), presented an award to the firm of ZIEHL-ABEGG SE as part of a celebratory event which was staged in accordance with Covid-19 conditions.

For the benefit of the general public

In this context, Thomas Strobel once again stressed the importance of companies that release their employees from their work duties to provide help. “These companies”, said Strobel, “are role models who deserve thanks and recognition”. Peter Fenkl, CEO of ZIEHL-ABEGG SE, accepted the certificate. The event was staged in compliance with Covid-19 guidelines.

Congratulations on the award from Minister of the Interior Thomas Strobel also came from the Mayor of Künzelsau Stefan Neumann.
Stefan Neumann, who also attended the ceremony, values the tremendous willingness and great commitment on the part of the volunteers. “However” says Neumann “these are both only possible because of the generosity of companies such as ZIEHL-ABEGG in releasing their employees from their work to carry out duties with the fire service or the THW [technical aid organisation]. I as Mayor and we as a society cannot thank them enough for this”.
