Innovative space for relaxation in the heart of the production area

The transparent interplay between concentrated working and relaxation zones, providing employees with a space for communication, was important to the Management of ZIEHL-ABEGG when planning the new production plant for the high-tech ECblue motors in Kupferzell, Baden-Württemberg.

Our concept is designed with the future in mind

“Our concept already meets the future requirements for the world of work today. Work should be fun, that’s our philosophy”, says Joachim Ley, COO at ZIEHL-ABEGG.

Those in charge are well-versed in the use of inter-departmental, transparent working areas. Glass and direct links from production area to office wings, already play a key role in the motor plant in Kupferzell which was commissioned into operation back in 2018 and which manufactures not only the ECblue motors but also the worldwide unique biomimetic impellers for sustainable fans in one of the most advanced, composite material production plants.

With the new factory hall now linked directly to the first production hall in order to expand the production area for the highly intelligent ECblue motors, the managers of ZIEHL-ABEGG have gone one step further in creating the space available to all employees as a place to work, interact with others and relax. During breaktimes, employees can watch the latest news on large screens located in the ECblue Forum, or simply meet for a brief chat over a coffee.

Transparency and smooth links

“The transparent and smooth links to the respective various work areas have further increased and broadened the sense of community amongst employees”, confirms Joachim Ley, adding: “The way we work in the future will be more informal, virtual and digital. Nevertheless, the employees have a distinctive sense of responsibility and are highly motivated. We have today already set out the course we will follow for the workplace of the future and the coordinated environment”.
