Getting the sought-after vaccinations, surrounded by high-tech fans of the Royal League
ZIEHL-ABEGG is tackling Corona with offers of vaccinations for its 2400 employees.
ZIEHL-ABEGG is the first company in the Heilbronn-Franken region (Baden-Württemberg) to vaccinate its employees. The vaccinations began at the Innovation and Development Center InVent, the future of manufacturing, and simultaneously at the headquarters of ZIEHL-ABEGG in Künzelsau, under the spotlight of the press and media. The cutting edge atmosphere in the impressive showroom for the company’s future-oriented blue technology gives those volunteering for their vaccinations the chance to dream of new freedoms whilst they’re still waiting in line.

Planned well in advance
The global fan manufacturer, with a worldwide network of companies, had already attracted worldwide attention and positive press coverage at the beginning of 2020 in the early days of the pandemic, when it took extraordinary decisions to protect its employees working around the globe. The commitment, help and support with pandemic-related issues was continued unceasingly by the company’s Crisis Team, which had been created at that time under the leadership of CEO Peter Fenkl. As one of the major companies in the region, Peter Fenkl was therefore also in no doubt about providing active support for vaccinations.

Special kind of vaccination centre
Keeping in permanent contact with the District Administrative Office and following the visit of the ZIEHL-ABEGG Crisis Team to a major vaccination centre in the spring, the company’s so-called showroom at the headquarters location in Künzelsau was re-purposed in accordance with this centre’s procedures, to create a very special kind of vaccination centre. Willing volunteers can today wait in line to get the liberating vaccination, surrounded by every type of state-of-the-art and highly-efficient, high tech fans of the kind that, under normal circumstances, would impress customers and guests of the company. The vaccinations are given by a professional team of doctors from the surrounding area, with special expertise in Covid-19.

Intense interest amongst the workforce
Vaccinations actually started on the 10th of May, using the AstraZeneca vaccine. There is huge interest amongst the workforce in getting a vaccination appointment and confidence in the vaccine is high, despite the known reservations. The appointments were issued in very short time. Vaccinations are now also being given at the company’s sites in Bieringen and the Hohenlohe Business Park, which is located directly on the A6 exit Kupferzell. The company has since also been able to offer vaccinations to the employees’ relatives.
ZIEHL-ABEGG strong during the crisis
“As such, the company is also making a major contribution towards the rate of vaccination in the region,” says Peter Fenkl. Since the beginning of the pandemic, ZIEHL-ABEGG has been playing its part in helping with Covid-19 related issues, supplying masks for the Department of Health, face visors for the authorities and practical applications using its own 3-D printer and last but not least by seconding several employees who provided support for the Department of Health’s telephone hotline. “If we only vaccinate 50 or 60 percent of our employees and some of their relatives, you will see that reflected in the infection rate”, says Fenkl.
