Recognition for investment in apprentices

ZIEHL-ABEGG Apprentices at the top of the winners’ podium

Double Gold Award for a highly informative knowledgeable and superbly organised children’s and youth event, with a range of activities covering all six continents. This is an impressive achievement of which not only the six award-winning apprentices who planned, organised and carried out this event are proud but also those responsible for ZIEHL-ABEGG SE.

As an innovative employer, with a global operation, ZIEHL-ABEGG provides the basis and opportunities for its employees and in particular for its apprentices to enable it to plan and execute such great campaigns as these, among other things. Targeted investments that pay off for the company because the young employees are the future of the company.

New ideas for an established event

The background to the internationally successful campaign: The motto was, by creating new ideas, to enable a children’s and youth event staged annually at ZIEHL-ABEGG, the so-called “Door-Opener Day” of the “Show with the Mouse”, to also be held at other ZIEHL-ABEGG business locations.

The objective: To prompt interest in technology and its contexts in a way which is both playful as well as fun and enjoyable.
Movement by perfection – the message of the exploration of drive units by the young visitors to ZIEHL-ABEGG.

Teamwork – willingness – good planning

The bases for and implementation of this major project organised by the six trainees involved, were founded on thorough, detailed planning in advance, great commitment and, of course, genuine teamwork. With the support of their ZIEHL-ABEGG instructors and after receiving the order to “GO” from the management, the young people implemented their plan at the existing ZIEHL-ABEGG locations all over the world.

Impressive presentation for the jury

That’s precisely what convinced the jury of the German Stevie Awards, a globally renowned, cross-sector business award scheme. The jury was impressed by the main objective of this ZIEHL-ABEGG event, i.e. introducing children around the world to technology and enabling them to discover the resulting contexts in a way which is both playful as well as fun and enjoyable. The young team staged a successful international event across all borders, winning the award for the best team in this field and another for the best CSR event. Around 100 children aged between 9 and 12 on six continents joined ZIEHL-ABEGG: in Derrimut (Australia), Singapore (Asia), Johannesburg (South Africa), Cajamar (Brazil), Greensboro (USA) and Kupferzell (Germany).

A great performance, with incredible honours as the crowning glory – double Gold Award
