Marco Altherr becomes new Chief Financial Officer at ZIEHL-ABEGG

Experienced financial expert takes over CFO position at Künzelsau-based industrial company

The Supervisory Board of ZIEHL-ABEGG has appointed Marco Altherr as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). From May this year, the experienced financial expert will take over responsibility for the company’s financial fortunes.

‘With Marco Altherr, we are gaining a proven financial expert who will provide our company with strategic support during a decisive growth phase,’ says Dennis Ziehl, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ZIEHL-ABEGG. ‘His experience in international industrial companies will be of great value to us.’

Marco Altherr has extensive experience in financial management. After completing a banking apprenticeship and a degree in business administration, he held senior finance positions at well-known companies. He joined the Freudenberg Group in 2011, most recently as CFO of Freudenberg Performance Materials, where he was responsible for all financial matters. Former positions at Manroland and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen round off his profile.

ZIEHL-ABEGG is currently in a phase of strong expansion – with investments in new plants, including a major project in the USA. ‘We are consciously facing up to the challenges of the future and are focussing on sustainable growth,’ explains Dennis Ziehl. ‘This requires experienced managers who can implement long-term strategies with financial foresight.’

Marco Altherr joins the Executive Board team with Joachim Ley (CEO) and Wolfgang Mayer (CTO). In addition to the traditional CFO areas, Altherr will also be in charge of IT and HR, among other things.
