Ground-breaking ceremony for the future in Kupferzell – A small celebration for an impressive ZIEHL-ABEGG SE construction project
…8,400 square metre area for the state-of-the-art high-tech production of the energy-saving ECblue electric motor technology and simultaneously an investment in the future for the company and its employees. Adapted to the current Corona situation and in compliance with the associated safety regulations, the groundbreaking ceremony for the innovative extension on the ZIEHL-ABEGG site in Kupferzell was attended by just a small group of guests on the 1st July under brilliant ‘royal’ blue skies. The Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut had made a special trip from Stuttgart to attend the celebration which included the District Administrator for the district of Hohenlohe, Matthias Neth, the shareholders and members of the Executive Board of ZIEHL-ABEGG SE, each one playing an active part in the ground-breaking ceremony. In her subsequent speech, Minister Dr. Hoffmeister-Kraut stressed the importance of such dynamic companies as ZIEHL-ABEGG for Baden-Württemberg and future employment in the region. It is expected that more than 200 new jobs will be created in the new production facility.
“Despite the Corona crisis the aim is to press ahead, we don’t accept the idea of a shutdown nor can we allow ourselves such an idea, whatever the crisis,” says the ZIEHL-ABEGG Management.
The extension is vital in order to meet the high global demand for the biomimetic, innovative and climate-friendly fans with highly efficient ECblue electric motors. This is also about securing jobs and, by supplying fans of outstanding quality and performance worldwide, continuing to play a leadership role in Baden-Württemberg as a business location. “It is only recently, during the worst phase of the Corona crisis, that we have been able to supply hospitals and evacuation stations etc. with our medical quality fans all over the world, because this location is the precise starting point for the global routes and processes,” continues the ZIEHL-ABEGG Management. The basic structure should be in place by the end of the year as the aim is for production to start here as early as spring 2021, using what will then be state-of-the-art production machinery.
