World’s largest test rig for fans

AMCA-certified, validates the performances of the energy-saving fans

Operational reliability and transparency for customers, with certificated test data

The certainty of reliable cooling and air handling, despite extreme heat conditions at outside temperatures of 36 degrees or even higher, is an essential prerequisite for modern, built-in air handling and cooling technology. However, the ventilation systems not only have to deliver reliable performance but also be sustainable, quiet, highly efficient and of course energy-saving, climate-friendly and geared towards future requirements. This makes the quality reliability of the installed components, such as the key fans, all the more important. The demands made on this sector are extremely high, the market is very promising and the range of options available is extensive. However, when the amount of investment involved is often in the four, five or even six-figure range, pure belief alone won’t achieve the objective.

Clear facts – fan test data

ZIEHL-ABEGG provides its customers with clear facts on its fans. With the world’s largest combined measurement and test rig for fans, ZIEHL-ABEGG offers certainty across a broad range. In the InVent technology centre at ZIEHL-ABEGG’s head office location in Künzelsau, Baden-Württemberg, ZIEHL-ABEGG, in order to calculate the performance of the fans, including and in particular with regard to the intended installation situation and requirement demanded in the respective case, engineers are able to use state-of-the-art and high-precision measurement and testing instrument in the test rig which has been certificated by the testing organisation AMCA, a non-profit association that monitors standards and certifications of ventilation technology systems worldwide. This transparency provides precise information on the anticipated performance of the fans once they have been installed and are operating in the customer’s air handling systems.

Thanks to this complete, overall profile, the innovative centrifugal and axial fans deliver highly sustainable, eco-friendly and energy-saving overall results and reduced CO2 levels in every type of application. Underpinned by the above-mentioned test results recorded in the fan measurement and test rig at ZIEHL-ABEGG, the certificated air performance and resultant, anticipated energy consumption levels of the respective high-tech fans deliver significant certainty for manufacturers of refrigeration and air handling equipment etc. for the use of the products in their systems. The reliability and certainty of the verified test data is important to ZIEHL-ABEGG. Therefore, despite the significant financial investment involved, details of these processes are regularly made available to external organisations such as AMCA or TÜV for inspection and verification.
