‘Golden move’ to a new generation
After 20 years in the role, Uwe Ziehl is handing over the Chairmanship of the Supervisory Board of ZIEHL-ABEGG SE to his son Dennis Ziehl. His daughter Sindia Ziehl is simultaneously appointed to the Supervisory Board.

With the handover of the Chairmanship of the Supervisory Board of ZIEHL-ABEGG SE on 1 January 2021 to his son, Dennis Ziehl and the simultaneous appointment of his daughter Sindia Ziehl to the company’s Supervisory Board, Uwe Ziehl, who has held this position for 20 years, has made his most favoured and first choice for the benefit of the company. In the long history of the Ziehl dynasty, Dennis Ziehl and his sister Sindia Ziehl represent the fourth generation of the firm of ZIEHL-ABEGG. ZIEHL-ABEGG was founded in 1910 in Berlin-Weißensee by Emil Ziehl, the grandfather of Uwe Ziehl and individual who laid the foundation stone for radical and forward-looking technical developments in the company, right up to the present day.

By handing over to his children, Uwe Ziehl is ensuring the continuation of ZIEHL-ABEGG’s successful management track record right from the very beginning, sprinkled with a new, young, dynamic spirit and a standard of expertise at the highest level. With Dennis Ziehl at the helm, the so-called “new generation” is already synonymous not only with boundless visions and innovation but also with continuity, reliability and, like his father, humanity and the ‘blue concept’, such as sustainability and climate protection for future generations. The successful young manager brings with him an extensive range of experience for dealing with his new task. Along with Uwe Ziehl, Dennis Ziehl has been Managing Director of ZIEHL industrie-elektronik GmbH + Co KG for several years, the company having been founded by Uwe Ziehl in 1967 in Schwäbisch Hall. He has also held special responsibility for innovative services and future-orientated concepts for many years at ZIEHL-ABEGG. Dennis Ziehl has been a member of the IHK Heilbronn-Franken [Chamber of Trade and Industry] for the two companies since 2017 and in this context is specially committed to the establishment of a modern, cosmopolitan and energy-conscious general framework of conditions for the region’s companies.

Uwe Ziehl, a vital ‘artery’ of the company, working mostly in the background throughout a lengthy period of ZIEHL-ABEGG’s history (since 2001), has been the instigator of bold and trend-setting decisions for the company and, as such, played a crucial role in paving the way for the future of a global world. In major recognition of and as an expression of gratitude for these invaluable services on behalf of the company, Dennis Ziehl, in his first act as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, together with Sister Sindia Ziehl and the entire Supervisory Board, has appointed Uwe Ziehl Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
