THE INGENIOUS CONCEPT OF EXTREMELY QUIET FANS

Indoor ventilation – living and working without background noise

The hot topic facing the climate industry in times of a pandemic is “good, virus-free indoor air for breathing” in offices, classrooms, business premises, catering, etc. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a focus on indoor air systems, whether mobile or permanently installed, not just by the experts, but for the entire population as a whole.

More than just protecting against infectious viruses

Devices that can produce purified air in rooms to protect against highly contagious viruses, etc., should preferably be permanently in use so that they convey a feeling of security to those who are in the rooms. This poses significant challenges for the climate industry in this area, particularly when it comes to noise. ZIEHL-ABEGG has been developing its fans for many years, particularly for applications that reduce any background noise to a minimum despite high-performance operation. They operate almost silently in addition to offering remarkable energy savings and maximum efficiency.

Biomimicry – an ingenious idea

The efficient fans from ZIEHL-ABEGG, which are based, among other things, on the specially developed and globally unique biomimetic concepts of ZIEHL-ABEGG impeller design, ensure barrier-free and barely audible air transport in the air movement process, even in the tightest device space conditions, thus contributing significantly to the air conditioning requirements of future indoor air devices.

The climate-friendly, efficient biomimicry fans are also equipped with state-of-the-art, intelligent ECblue motor technology, which drives with exceptional smoothness and, in combination with the proven biomimetic impeller design in axial and radial areas, ensure barrier-free, flowing air movement over the biomimetic, sensitized air-leaving edges and thus reduce noise to a minimum.

ZIEHL-ABEGG: World’s largest air and noise test rigs for fans – certified for noise measurements in accordance with DIN 3741 Class 1, air measurements in accordance with DIN 24166 Class 1, ducting measurements in accordance with DIN 5136, AMCA 210-99 certified, TÜV SÜD certification in accordance with ISO 5801. The measurements take place as they would under open air conditions and do not allow any significant acoustic reflections.

Reliably tested from the first second of creation

The development of the outstanding impellers, these high-tech fans, is accompanied from the very first moment of creation in the development phase, by one of the world’s largest air and noise test rigs for fans. Continuously emerging new results are incorporated into subsequent high-tech products here. The impressive test rig, directly in the ZIEHL-ABEGG development centre at the headquarters in Künzelsau, Baden-Württemberg, is used to develop environmentally friendly, high-precision, and low tonal noise fans. With a length of 97 metres, a width of 47 metres, and a height of 11 metres, the test rig, which is also AMKA certified, is an unmissable building complex.
