ISH 2023 – ZIEHL-ABEGG presents a power portfolio of biomimetic fans

Dr. Marc Wucherer, CEO of ZIEHL-ABEGG SE, left no doubt in his introductory speech at the ISH opening presentation on the ZIEHL-ABEGG stand that for many years the findings and lessons learned from biomimetics have been indispensable to ZIEHL-ABEGG in the development of its sustainable, highly efficient and energy-saving fans.

In key points of an impressive statement, the CEO underlined the major advantages of product developments which incorporate biomimetic characteristics to the numerous guests, trade fair visitors and representatives of the press.

Learning from the natural world

The company was successful in attracting the renowned expert In biomimetics, Prof. Dr. Stanislav Gorb, from the University of Kiel, as guest speaker. Following the introductory speech, the research scientist, who has won numerous awards and honours for his expertise and publications, gave a lecture on “Biological surfaces as an inspiration for technology – learning from the natural world.

With the help of various examples, the biologist and scientist explained the importance of drawing from the infinite spectrum of natural processes and applying them to these necessary technological challenges of today.

In an impressive film show, ZIEHL-ABEGG also premiered its latest, biomimetic and energy-saving fan developments – RG16V scroll housing fan systems and ZAvblue2 – under the heading “The new benchmark for compact, extremely economical and barely audible application”.
